Local Workload Campaign Steps Up Following Damning Survey Results

For a number of years, teacher workload has consistently been the main issue raised with us, with teachers in many schools suffering with excessive working hours, leading to stress, illness and many teachers leaving the profession they love.

Coventry NUT is one of only 8 Divisions chosen to be part of a pilot campaign aimed at bringing about a substantial and sustained reduction in teacher workload and to redress the work/life balance that has slipped too far for many teachers. Read more....​​

School Funding Cuts

England’s schools are now experiencing the largest real terms funding cuts in more than a generation.

In real terms, schools will lose huge amounts of money, rising to £2.5 billion a year by 2020. 92% of schools will have their funding cut. ​​​

The NUT and ATL have launched a joint website where you can enter a postcode to see how schools in the area will be affected. There is an online petition and the facility to e-mail your MP - over 380 MPs have alrerady been e-mailed through the site.

The NUT’s programme of action short of strike action allows members to tackle a wide range of workload issues and provides a fantastic opportunity to improve the working lives of teachers in school and bring about improvements for the young people they teach.
